Sam Samuelson, CGCS, is superintendent at Wildhawk Golf Course in Elk Grove, Calif. He earned his bachelors in agronomy from the University of Arizona and first achieved Certification in 1989. Samuelson is a past President of the Sierra Nevada GCSA and hosted numerous Northern California Golf Association Amateur Events at Haggin Oaks Golf Course with the primary one being the Annual State Fair. Samuelson is a co- recipient of the 2014 Leo Feser Award presented in recognition of the best superintendent-written article in Golf Course Management magazine.
