Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., McCall graduated from Purdue University, Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NRTOC), with a B.S in Mathematics and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Independence that was stationed in San Diego, Calif., and Yokosuka, Japan. After a successful tour onboard the USS Independence, which included deployments during Operation Desert Shield and Southern Watch, McCall was selected to teach as an engineering instructor at the Surface Warfare Officers’ School in Newport, R.I. Upon separation from the U.S. Navy, McCall attended The Pennsylvania State University two-year golf course turfgrass management program. Since graduating, he has worked at several public and private courses as a golf course superintendent and currently serves as the General Manager of Putnam County Golf Course and Executive Director of the Metropolitan Golf Course Superintendents Association in New York.
