Sandy Clark, CGCS, has spent 48 years in the Golf and Turf Industry, the past 26 as a golf course superintendent. He has been at Barona Creek Golf Club since the beginning of construction in 1999. He had previous superintendent positions with Country Club of Rancho Bernardo and Eastlake Country Club. He was the winner of 2004 ELGA Resort Category. Winner of the 2011 Golf Digest, USGA Green Star Award. Barona Creek has been an Audubon Signature Courses since March 2002. He has completed all of the GCSAA Environmental Management Certificate Programs. His education includes: an MBA, National University, and a BS in Agriculture from California State University Pomona. He was the former Turf Management and Golf Course and Sports Turf Management Instructor for Cuyamaca College and San Diego Golf Academy. He previously taught at San Diego Mesa College for the Ornamental Horticulture Department. He is a past President of the San Diego Golf Course Superintendents Association and served as a Director for the California Golf Course Superintendents Association. Sandy is also a past San Diego Chapter Voting Delegate and has served previously on GCSAA committees. He is currently a Director for the San Diego Chapter. He possess a California Landscape Contractor License and both California Pesticide Advisor and Qualified Applicator License plus certification as a Pesticide Applicator in Indian Country. He has been married 50 years with two sons, one in the industry, and four grandkids.
