Ken Benoit is a graduate of the University of Detroit and Michigan State University and brings more than 30 years of experience as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent. His career includes leadership roles in the highly competitive Metropolitan New York region, along with experience as a builder and environmental consultant.
Ken has served as President of the Metropolitan GCSA and the New York Golf Course Foundation, where he later became the organization’s first Executive Director. Throughout his career, Ken has worked to build relationships among state legislators and regulators, environmental groups and golf industry professionals to advance education on environmental protection matters related to the golf industry. He played a key role in assisting the GCSAA with the development of its National Best Management Practices (BMP) document template and facilitated the creation of multiple statewide BMP templates. He has also helped numerous golf facilities formally adopt their own BMP Facility Document.
Ken’s contributions have been recognized with numerous golf industry and non industry environmental awards. In 2025, he joined Audubon International as Director of Signature Sanctuary Programs and became its CEO in 2026.
